Favourite MAC Eyeshadows | The Neutrals.

Hello there Lads and Ladettes!
I know what you are thinking, long time no see.. well, you're quite right. In my defense, I can say that I've been super buisy with some new projects which i can't wait to tell you about..wait and see.
Since last week's post was all about skincare and boring bits, for this week's edit I've decided to keep it classic and to play it safe: you know what I mean, It's a MAC themed post, again!
I always come back to these because you seem to like them the better, and i seem to like to make them as well, so however you wanna see it, it's a win win situation.
Today I'm gonna share with ya'll my favourite picks when it comes to Neutral Eyeshadows, since they're the colors that I like to wear the most during the Autumnal times.
Before I start rambling about the shades that i picked, let's just put it straight: i LOVE MAC eyeshadows. I believe they are the best product made by this brand, the colour range is amazing, the pigmentation is insane, and even if the pan looks really frickin small, they've lasted me ages. They're not on the cheap side of life, but again, if you'll ever find yourself thinking about buying some expensive bits of makeup, or some MAC products, definitely go for their eyeshadows, because honestly it's worth it.

Moving on to the eyeshadows, first shade I chose is Vapour. Its a very pinkish white color with a slight shimmer to it,it's in a Velvet finish. It looks very intense in the pan, but once applied it's barely noticeable. It lasts all day without a primer and it blends well. It works really nice as a browbone highlighter for me,or generally used as a wash of color on the lid for a very simple and glowy look.

Second eyeshadow i've got for you is also on the pink side of life. There's no much to say about this one, because everyone who's into make up knows that this warm, shimmery peach-beige (a frost finish) number is one of Mac's best seller products. It's Naked Lunch ladies. My personal favourite way to apply it is all over the lid paired with Mac's paint pot in Bare Study. I know, you've heard of this combo before.

Next Eyeshadow is Omega (Matte finish).  Toghether with Charcoal Brown, this neutralshade that has elements of brown, beige and grey in it, is one of everyone's favourite to fill in eyebrows. Personally i like to use it in the crease to create a very subtle and refined look, perfect for daytime, work and school. Looks brilliant paired with the former Naked Lunch.

This next one is probably the favourite of all my selection. I know, that's a big statement but i've worn Honey Lust so many times, and everytime feels like the first. This  glittery bronzed peach in MAC’s Lustre finish, it’s best described like this: glitter, glitter, glitter! it gives the same amount of sparkle than a loose pigment, but without the struggle that comes with it. I like to use it in very special occasions, when i'm feeling particularly Tinker-Bell-ish.

Another beloved member of my collection is -what a surprise!- another Matte eyeshadow, called Espresso.
As you guys can probably tell by the super cute name, it's a Matte light brown color (it looks darker in the pan!). Very very versatile: good for filling eyebrows, lining your lash line for a very natural look, blending into the crease or even applying all over the lid to create a nice, light smokey look.

And last but absolutely by no means least, no MAC eyeshadow collection should be compleated without a black eyeshadow. This one in particular, is called Carbon Black. I have to say the name is very much appropriated: It's a muted, Matte black shadow. I have to admit it hasn't got the best pigmentation BUT this has also some pros. First of all, it does not have massive fallouts, plus it's very easy to blend, and the colour is very buildable as well. It works great as a smokey color, but what i like to do is to apply it across my lashline instead of eyeliner with a small angled brush, and then blend it upwords a little. If you flick it at the end, It gives a super sexy cat-eye smokey look without being too hevy and difficult to create.

So, that was it for today! Hope you guys found this post usefull or at least interesting! I really enjoy making these, so let me know what you'd like to see me do next! Thanks so much for reading, following, i really appreciate it, and as usual I'll talk to ya'll very soon! Meg x

Drugstore Skincare Routine for Beginners!

Hello lads and ladettes!
How are we? i hope you've had a magnificent beginning of the week.
In this particular moment of my life i have a thousand things to do, and no time at all. To make it even more enjoyable ( #jk ),3 times a week (including monday oh Lord) i have to wake up at 6 a.m. to catch my train to go to Uni. However, there's one thing that makes me less annoyed about waking up before the sun comes out, ant it is doing my skincare and make up routine. Expecially the first one actually. That is why i've decided to write today's post about it, I find there's no better way to start an early morning than to treat yourself with very nice products. The range of products that i'm gonna show you is very basic compared to what the majority of beuty gurus shows in this kinda of posts, but i'm quite young, and most of all, i'm always in a hurry, so i've decided to keep it simple and quick.
First of all, i like to start by washing my face with cold water. It may sound a bit old school, but it really is the only thing able to make you instantly feel wide awake. Then, for a deeper cleaning, i massage my cleanser onto my skin.

At the moment i'm using the Clinians Hydra Basic Cleansing Gel with minerals and white Tea. I got it because it was cheap and it smelled and looked good ..and it does is very good for a drugstore cleanser. The thing i love about this product, apart from its smell, is that it really does refresh your face, and makes it feel soft and velvety. Although it is very delicate, it removes impurities and make up residues.

Then of course, it is time to give back hydration to the face. As a day moisturiser i use the Vichy AQUALIA THERMAL UV Fortifying and protecting 24h hydrating care. Although Vichy is not a proper drugstore brand, I find it very convenient and extreamely high quality. This fluid is lightweight, therefore you can apply it even a few minutes before starting to do your make up. It is not chreasy at all, the scent is subtle, lovely and luxurious. It even has Spf 25, that is a compleate bonus for a daily cream. The packaging is really efficient, it has a small pump that erogates the perfect amount of product, so that you don't waste even the smallest dot of this lovely fluid. It hasn't parabenes in it, it is ipoallergenic, so it is suitable for all skins, including very sensitive ones.

A very important step for me is lip balm, expecially when the weather cools down, like in this period. I have so meny of them , from babylips to expensive ones. This particular one is from Sephora, i got it in Paris, some time ago. It comes in a pot, so not very hygenic for carrying around in your bag, but as long as you use it at home with a lip brush instead of shaving your finger in it, it is fine.Theres a lot of product in the tin. The tin is silver, shiny and very trendy, It smells like vanilla. I likes it.

..Not a part of my morning skincare routine, but i thought i would include what i usually use to take my make up off at nigh or during the day if i need to re-apply it.

I remove make up with cotton buds and clesnsing milk. One that i'm really enjoying at the moment is the Garnier Sensitive Essential delicate cleansing milk. It has no scent, no alcool and no colours in in it, and its formula is light and rich. It works for every tipe of skin but specifically for sensitive skin, and it doesn't dry it out. It can be used to remove both eve and face make up, and waterproof make up. Another combo that i loooves is this La Roche-Posay one; it consists of cleansing milk and micellar water. I have used a few times this two samples that i've been given to try out, and when i run out of my Garnier one, i might just go out and buy both. They feel lovely and luxurious, without any scent and parabene-free.

So, that is it for today! Hope you liked it, as usual, let me know! I'll update this as soon as i change something! ?..i'm sure youve learned that I'll talk to ya'll very soon! Meg x

New Essence Bits Review!

Oh hello there Lads and Ladettes!
How are we? i hope everything's blody good for everyone reading.
Last saturday i was willing for some 'Autumn Time' to spend fuffing around in the shops. So i decided to call my good friend Arianna, and to spend the afternoon in a very famous shopping street in Rome. I've popped in lots of shops, altough i was feeling very fussy about basically everything, and not really in the mood to buy or try on clothes. So i ended up buying stuff only in Tiger, and of course in the Essence make up counter in OVS. If you are from Europe, and you're into drugstore make up, you must have heard about this brand: basically their products are very very unexpensive because the company does'nt own proper shops (they put counters in other stores), they don't sponsor them, and the packaging is really basic. I think that for someone who just got into make up, Essence is a really good place to start. They offer an enormous range of products, textures, formulas and colours, and they make some very very cute limited edition collection based on the new trends, on the season and on special occasions as well. I've tried almost EVERYTHING they sell over the past few years ( probably i'll be doing a tops and flops essence products blog post in the future), so I decided to be a little more brave and to pick up some stuff thai i did not personally know a lot about. And without even reading blog reviews before. I know, i know.. i live life on the edge.

This is probably the most exciting and brave thing i got. It is the Essence Stay Matt lip cream in the colour 04 Silky Red. So basically every make up company, from drugstore to expensive brands, has been producing this lip product, that is a very very nice compromise between a lipstick and a lipgloss. This one has the coverage and the pigmentation of a lipstick, but the formula and the applicator of a lipgloss. It does not need a lip pencil or anything. I would suggest prepping your lips with moisturiser before, tho. It stays on a good 4 hours without creasing or disappearing, and over all it is very good quality. It has a very sweet smell, i warn you scent haters out there.

Second, we have an eyelid primer. I don't usually use one, because i feel like my eyeshadow does not crease that much. So i decided to try on a very cheap one before buyng something expensive, and then realizing that I don't like primers at all.To be honest i don't see a huge difference. Something that i like is its nude colour without any shimmer that evens out very nicely your eyelid, and looks pretty and clean even if you decide not to put any eyeshadow on top.

I also decided to get a new mascara. You know how it goes, the haunt for the perfect mascara NEVER ends. I got their best seller mascara, the Multi Action mascara: it claims to give extra lenth, volume and curl. Here's what i think. I compared the result to what i get with my other mascara that i'm using at the moment, and it does give extra lenght (actually i saw a hudge difference!) and quite a LOT of curl. The problem i find with volume, therefore the formula of the product is quite dry. By the way, i like to apply another quick coat of another mascara with a much more oily formula, after this one, and i'm quite happy with the result. The applicator is in a shape of a cone, so it allows to reach every corner of your lashline. I likes that.

And finally, i got this Gel look topcoat. The ONLY thing i really needed from that shop. Essence nail polishes are all amazing and ridiculously cheap (about 1 pound 50 EACH, that is 1.99 €). Their colour range is almost infinite, as well as the variety of glittery and curative top coats and nail care tools. This top coat takes a bit to dry, but makes your nails look super shiny and almost look like they're done by professionals. It also makes your nailpolish last a very long time.

And that is it for today's post! Have you heard of this brand before? what do you think of it? Would you like a whole 'Essence massive review thing' sooner or later? Let me know! And as usuall i'll talk to ya'll very very soon! Meg x

Autumn 2013 Nail Trends!

Oh hello there Lads and Ladettes!
So, earlier i was about to paint my nails, when i drowned into my Nail Polish Collection. I am litteraly obsessed with nail polishes, and even if i tell myself to stop buying them, one of them always happens to slip into my beauty shopping. Today I wanted to share with you my favourite Autumn picks, and hopefully I'll be ready to decide what I want to wear after writing this post ( or, i'll end up be even more indecisive, very very convenient). So I'll start off with my classic pick: The neutrals. I've chosen a bold Terracotta colour that will match perfectly the palest and both the slightly tanned skin tones, and an extreamely pale butter\milk-ish colour (absolutely PERFECT for the darker skin tones), slightly more wearable and 'in your face' then the classic white nail poish.

Just realised that the bottles are a bit battered. Sorry about that, but that means that these two really are some of my favourite nail colours!
Moving on onto another little selection, these two polishes really do scream 'autumn'. Firstly I've chosen a very very famous Chanel nail polish, a very cold toned purple with a hint of grey in it and tiny little vibrant purple holo-glitters. My other pick is slightly more 'out there': although the base colour is pretty similar to the first, this bad boy is full of proper gold, bronze and purple glitters.

Nex, is something quite unusual for this season. I've chosen a vibrant purple colour, and one of my ALL SEASON FAVOURITE shade and formula and brand (excuse caps lock action there, but i had to express my excitement someway!), a pastely sky colour.

I struggled alot with this picture, because the flash made the lightest colour look basically white! Hope it works, anyway. So now, my final selection of items concearns a new discovery of mine, and a timeless classic. First we have the new kid in town: a very cool light military green, very very on trend at the moment. And, last but not least.. an amazing bright, bold RED! No blog post on nail polish makes sense without a red laquer in it, right?

And that is it for my Nail picks! Hope you liked,
and, if you'd like me to do a compleate nailpolish collection blog post let me know!
And as usual, I'll talk to ya very soon! Meg x

CloseUp: MAC Teal pigment!

Hello Lads and Ladettes! So, you know when you meet someone and then suddently after a few days you know them they give you presents..
Nope, right? Well, actually it was the same for me, untill i met this very cool lady at Uni! She heard that i had a special place for MAC makeup in my little beauty nerd heart, and the following day she gave me this bad boy..

( My nailpolish in the picture is My Vampire is Buff by O.P.I.)

I've never owned a MAC pigment before, because to be honest they are farely expensive, and you get quite a scary amount of product that I thought I was never going to use. But now that I have one (courtesy of my friend!) I can tell what all the fuff is about. This pigment is extreamely soft and velvety and the color payoff is insane. It is definitely not a mat shade, although it hasn't proper glitter inside. Is more of a overall shimmery effect and i really like it! Can't wait to use it now that autumn\winter season has arrived (..and Christmas is closer, yes I just dropped the C bomb.)

What about you guys? Do you have any MAC pigments? What is your favourite? Let me know! I'll talk to ya'll very soon! Meg x
